My interesting camping story in Narkanda Himachal Pradesh
This story is from November 2019, when I was riding the Spiti Valley bike ride with my bike, although I have been to Narkanda and Hatu Peak many times. when I was riding Spiti in November 2019. Then I had this plan that I will not stay in any hotel at any place, wherever I will stay in my camp only, I started my bike ride from Delhi.
And I did my first camp in Chail and after Chail, I started my journey to Narkanda, I took the necessary items from the local market for camping like milk, Maggi, coffee and jerry cans of water, I took all these things from Narkanda to Hatu Peak By the time everyone reached Hatu Peak, it was 5 o’clock in the evening. And I forgot to tell you one thing and I also had a friend on this bike ride.
So as I was telling you that I reached Hatu Peak at 5 in the evening. where I wanted to set up my camp. And now we had an evening of at most 2 hours.
For the whole night, we had to collect wood from the forest, and light a fire before it got dark, both of us were doing all this work, after an hour it was found that while searching for wood in the forest, Mary’s bike key turned and I had only one key to the bike.
And it was a matter of great concern because the handle of my bike was also locked. After a lot of research, somehow we got the key to the bike, but the time to find this key was very bad. By the time the key was found, it was completely dark in the forest.
Everything was fine for a while after it got dark, but as the night progressed, the atmosphere of the forest also changed. And when I was buying goods from the local market of Narkanda.
After taking the luggage, we went to Hotel Mount View for some time, for some work they told me that they will not take the room this time, so I said that this time I am going to Hatu Peak, we will do the camp at night. He will stay there.
Hearing this, everyone started laughing at us that we do not joke, those people thought that we are joking. But I said it’s true, I’m not kidding, after that everyone gave me the same opinion that you don’t camp on Hatu it can be very dangerous one reason behind this was that there are very few tourists during November Come and wild animals also live on Hatu Peak, at this time bears and jaguars are most at risk.
But we still left for Hatu Peak. As I was telling you that as the night progressed in the forest, the atmosphere of the forest started changing and we had not taken a room in any hotel till we reached Narkanda from Delhi, which made both of us very tired. But the forest looked so scary, after 10 o’clock, I can’t tell you in words, But we had accumulated too much wood.
These woods kept burning till 3 o’clock in the night, I kept awake that this fire kept burning and wild animals could not come near our camp, you must have understood that I was very scared at that time. There was a reason for me to be afraid, that was because of the place where I had camped.
We had set up that camp right in the middle of the forest, from here it takes more than 40 minutes to reach the main road, so it was impossible for anyone to reach here at night and the forest department can camp alone in this forest. does not allow.
Because it is really a very dangerous forest. And the second reason was that when I went to Narkanda for the first time, I had heard all the stories of Hatu Peak, these stories were told to me by the local people which were very interesting and scary too.
That night I had only one prayer to God that it should be the morning of the night and it was morning. This night was nothing less than a dangerous adventure for me. Don’t you ever make the mistake that I did because not everyone’s luck is the same.
